This week we are remembering some valued friends of JPMFAA: Alyce Colvin, Jack Bond, and Tommy Dean Hearne. Mrs. Colvin and Mrs. Hearne were charter members of the museum, and Mr. Bond was a JPMFAA member for many years. They are greatly missed. We are thankful to have known them, and seek to continue their fine legacies of promoting arts and culture in Jackson Parish.
As home of the Jimmie Davis Annex, the Jackson Parish Museum is always proud to present the community with a wealth of information and interesting memorabilia concerning the former governor and entertainer. This overcoat was worn by Jimmie Davis, and was given to L.R. Robison (Lieutenant, Louisiana State Police) by Alvern Davis in 1964.
Lieutenant Robison then donated the overcoat to the Jackson Parish Museum, in collaboration with Senator Randy Ewing. To view this fine overcoat and many other Jimmie Davis items, stop by the museum!
